"The world's confusion over political developments"
In 2010, the world media failed to understand how after a surprise primary election campaign result (a dark horse victory), and a watershed environmental disaster (the BP
oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico), one American politician, Sarah Palin, capitalized on the opportunity to demonstrate such a fast grip on the new reality.
'Governor' Palin invited to her great state of Alaska the men who inadvertently championed her "Drill, Baby, Drill!" slogan; South Carolina's surprise Democrat candidate
for US Senate Alvin Greene and BP CEO Tony Hayward.
She hosted them on a moose hunting trip and in a show of bipartisanship, has hired two other prominent men to assist them. Showing off her two favorite vices, Dick Cheney
handled gun safety, and Joe Biden taught them an advanced course on "How to Spill, Baby, Spill, without revealing a single thing."
