NASA’s retro travel posters for real exoplanets are a thing of beauty
NASA has been discovering lots of new and far flung exoplanets with the Kepler telescope – more than 4,000 candidate planets so far. To celebrate those discoveries, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory has created a series of retro-style posters from the ‘Exoplanet Travel Bureau’. With Interstellar-style galactic travel not within our grasp quite yet, the designers have had to guess a little at what each planet might look like. We’re pretty sure that plants on a planet orbiting a red dwarf wouldn’t be red, for a start. The three real exoplanets in this imaginary travel brochure are HD40307g, Kepler-186f and Kepler-16b. You…
