Anonymous sharing app Whisper has launched a non-profit project that is focused on helping those suffering at the hands of bullying, depression and other mental health issues. The growth of apps like Whisper, Secret and YikYak — which allow users to share information under the cloak of anonymity — have raised concerns about mental health and bullying. Just last week, Fortune exposed major issues with Secret’s system for detecting bullying — now Whisper’s founders are responding to “a need we couldn’t ignore”, as they told Re/Code.
