Mark Zuckerberg today announced Oculus was working hard on a cord-free headset to hit the sweet-spot that could push VR into the mainstream, which he acknowledged wasn’t yet a thing. To better meet the needs of the VR community, Zuckerberg announced ‘Go,’ a cord-free headset that doesn’t require a phone. The announcement, so far, has been light on details other than to show the headset itself — which looks a lot like Google Daydream (but doesn’t require the phone) — and to say it’ll ship early next year for $199. Also announced were “Venues,” Rift’s Developing… refresh for updates.
